POCSHN Homecoming: 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

Since 2015, People of Color Sustainable Housing Network has been a collective for experimentation and peer learning toward relationships with the land and each other that are regenerative and sustainable. Come to our homecoming celebration to connect with other POC that are land visionaries fighting against the housing crisis with healing and mutual aid. Attendees will learn more about the history and future of POCSHN, connect with organizations and individuals interested in POC-led housing and land projects, get inspired by some impressive emerging housing collectives, and enjoy some delicious food and music!

Event Activities Overview

 

Networking and Creative Activities 

 

Arrive at 2 PM to enjoy our creative stations and networking activities like:

  • Land dreams wall: Learn more about existing projects in People of Color Sustainable Housing Networks and will have the opportunity to share your own land dreams. 

  • Land Visionaries Discussion Table:  Using post-its- engage in a collective discussion about our creative ideas and personal experiences as land visionaries.

  • Notebook Decorating Fundraiser: Stop by the POCSHN table to purchase a customizable notebook. 

  • DIY Photobooth: Find one of our hidden 

 

10 years of POC Land Visionaires: Centering Dialogue 

 

At 3pm we will start our program to share enchanting stories and reflections on 10 years of POC Sustainable Housing. Hear from POCSHN Founders, Staff, and participating land Projects on why now, more than ever, is a time to support sustainable and collective stewardship of land, rooted in shared wealth and community healing. 

 

Toasts and Anniversary Cake Cutting 

 

Around 4pm, join us for a community cheer to the past and future of our organization and each cake to celebrate our anniversary together. 

 

POCSHN Dance Party!

 

DJ mareabloom will be spinning some dance music in the last hour of our event to wrap up our celebration with some good grooves.
